Before we send your prepaid label, we confirm a couple of things — same as selling at our counter.

Collection notice. Alberta requires us to record your ID and transaction details for every scrap-metal purchase under the Scrap Metal Dealers and Recyclers Identification Act (SA 2013, s.3). This information is collected by Converter King and may be provided to a peace officer or a law enforcement agency. We keep the transaction record for the two years the Act requires and restrict it to authorized staff.

Alberta law requires us to record proof of ownership for catalytic converters. A short note is fine — e.g. "removed from my own vehicles," "I'm a licensed mechanic and pulled these from customer jobs," or "bought from (shop name)."

Add a photo of your government ID and a selfie holding it next to your face. A staff member reviews these before your label goes out — it's how we confirm it's really you, and it protects you from fraud.
